How to Take Pictures for Vinted
After setting up your profile using my guide, you're ready to list your first item! The key to attracting customers to your listing is taking high quality photos that effectively showcase what you’re selling. This is something I initially over-looked, which resulted in my items not getting much attention. However, once I shifted my focus to improving the quality of my pictures, my items began to sell in no time. For instance, take these Air Max 95s (that have definitely seen better days) I managed to fetch £35 for by spending some extra time to capture the perfect pic:
So, let me let you in on the secrets:
Tip 1 - Lighting - Utilising natural light is the easiest way to elevate your photography game. Aim to photograph your items during the day, using natural daylight to highlight the colours of your items and any features you want to make shoppers aware of. However, if like me you live in the UK and natural daylight is hard to come by, a ring-light could be a worthwhile investment to make your pictures pop at any time of day.
Tip 2 - All the Angles - To allow buyers to purchase with confidence, ensure you take shots from multiple angles, giving close-ups of the detail, allowing people to assess the quality and condition of your items.
Tip 3 - Presentation - In order to keep the focus on your item, ensure your background is free from clutter and preferably photograph on a blank canvas like a neutral coloured floor or wall. Additionally, lay items flat and straighten out creases to give buyers an idea of how the item will look on.
Tip 4 - Honesty - Don't be afraid to picture any flaws on your items - transparency builds trust with customers and avoids setting unrealistic expectations for your items, reducing the likelihood of returns.
Combining these tips will be sure to turn heads to your listing - happy selling!
